Menard is the first driver to win his first career race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He is the fourth different first-time winner this season, the most since 2007. This is his sixth top-10 finish in 2011. This is his first top-10 finish in five races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Menard family has a long history at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but this is the first Indy win in a Menards-sponsored car. Jeff Gordon (second) posted his 14th top-10 finish in 18 races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It is his ninth top-10 finish in 2011. Regan Smith (third) posted his first top-10 finish in four races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
