SPRINT CUP PRACTICE 1

Nine minutes and eight laps into practice, five cars go to garage
During the first laps of the first practice for The Sprint Unlimited, a five-car wreck sent some top contenders to the garage.
Matt Kenseth came down on Kurt Busch, and the chain reaction involved Mark Martin, Carl Edwards and Juan Pablo Montoya.
Practice began at 5 p.m. ET with an 11-car singe file train, led by Jimmie Johnson. At the time of the accident, defending Sprint Unlimited winner Kyle Busch was leading the pack and avoided the melee.
"I had know idea (Kurt) was there. I had no idea anyone was even close to me,” Kenseth said, taking responsibility for the accident.
Martin, Edwards and Kurt Busch will go to back up cars for the race. There is a second practice at 6:30 p.m. ET, but it is not sure if the back up cars will be ready.

The Sprint Unlimited airs at 8:10 p.m. ET on FOX on Saturday night.
