Penske Wins, Takes Over Championship Standings Lead

Racing is on a roll capturing their fourth victory in five races. Four
drivers have combined for eight wins this season – Brad Keselowski, Joey
Logano, AJ Allmendinger and Sam Hornish Jr. With seven of those wins,
the No. 22 team holds the lead in the owner’s championship standings by
22 points over the No. 54 of Kyle Busch Motorsports.
Hornish Rises To The Top
With
11 races remaining, Sam Hornish Jr. holds a slim 13-point lead over
Elliott Sadler followed by Regan Smith, Austin Dillon and Brian Vickers.
The top spot has traded hands four times this season between three
drivers – Hornish, Smith and Dillon.
New Crew Chief For Piquet
Nelson
Piquet Jr. will have a new crew chief Friday at Bristol. Veteran crew
chief Pat Tryson assumes the role for the Turner Scott Motorsports team.
Piquet’s former crew chief, Chris Carrier, will hold the same post for
the team’s No. 30 NCWTS entry. Piquet is currently 12th in the
standings.
