Recent NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Winners Add to Lineup for 2011 Sprint All-Star Race

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Aug. 19, 2010 – The lineup for the 2011 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race (NYSE:S) has added several names during the past five weeks. David Reutimann, Greg Biffle and Juan Pablo Montoya have all claimed starting spots in next year’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race with their wins at Chicagoland Speedway, Pocono Raceway and Watkins Glen International.
While Reutimann was eligible for the 2010 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race thanks to his 2009 Coca-Cola 600 win, his eligibility expired after this year’s event. After leading 52 laps on his way to taking the checkered flag at Chicagoland Speedway in July, Reutimann now has a shot at the $1 million NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race payday offered to the winner of the 2011 race.
Biffle, who qualified for this year’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race by finishing second in the Sprint Showdown, is happy his recent win at Pocono Raceway has guaranteed him a spot in next year’s elite starting grid.
"This year was the first year since my rookie year that I didn't have a win in the previous year to secure a spot in the Sprint All-Star Race,” said Biffle, a seven-time All-Star competitor. “We were able to race our way in because of the hard work of the guys on this 3M team, but it definitely feels good to be locked in for next year."
The 2011 event will mark Montoya’s second NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race appearance, with the first coming in 2008 after he scored his first career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory at Infineon Raceway the previous season. Montoya locked up a spot in next year’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race with his road course win at Watkins Glen International on Aug. 8.

There are more than 20 races remaining to qualify for the 2011 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. A number of high-profile drivers are not locked in, including Jeff Burton, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Carl Edwards. The 2011 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will be held in May at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
