Kurt Busch won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Inaugural STP 400 with a lap of 30.901 seconds, 174.752 mph.
This is his 13th pole in 377 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. He ties Dick Rathmann for 48th on all-time pole list.
This is his first pole and sixth top-10 start in 2011. His last pole came nearly a year ago - June 13 at Michigan, 33 races ago.
This is his first pole in 11 races at Kansas Speedway.
Juan Pablo Montoya (second) posted his third top-10 start of 2011 and his second in five races at Kansas Speedway.
Kyle Busch (third) posted his second top-10 start at Kansas Speedway.  It is his sixth in 13 races this season.
 Andy Lally (39th) was the fastest qualifying rookie.
