Time to Shine With Four Races To Go In The Championship Run

NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES
Time to Shine With Four Races To Go In The Championship Run
With four races to go in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, it is go-time for the top four (Ty Dillon, James Buescher, Timothy Peters and Parker Kligerman) in championship contention. Series points leader Dillon made his Martinsville Speedway debut earlier this season. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender qualified on the outside pole and finished in the same position. Buescher and Kligerman both captured their best finishes at Martinsville in the spring race finishing third and 11th, respectively. Buescher is second in the standings one point out of the lead, while Kligerman sits fourth trailing by 34 points. Third-place Peters (-26 points) is the only driver in the championship battle with a victory at Martinsville (Fall 2009) and will need a strong showing this weekend if he wants to make a charge at the championship.
Locals Find Comfort In National Series Race
It is known that many drivers began their racing careers at hometown local short tracks. You can consider Martinsville Speedway just that. This Saturday, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger 200 will feature the track debuts of several drivers at the 0.526-mile oval. Ryan Blaney will make his track debut at Martinsville Speedway after winning at Iowa Speedway, another short track, earlier this season. Tyler Young made his truck series debut at Rockingham Speedway earlier this year and has made two additional starts (Kentucky – June, Bristol) this season. Josh Richards will make his first series start this season in the No. 5 Wauters Motorsports Ford. Richards drove the Kyle Busch Motorsports Chevrolet last season in seven races including the fall Martinsville race. Jeff Agnew from Cooper Hill, Va., has two truck series starts (Spring 2012 and Fall 2011) at Martinsville Speedway with a best finish of 14th last fall. In addition, Agnew has a late model victory captured at the speedway. Grant Enfinger has three truck series starts this season with a best finish of 12th at Daytona and Las Vegas. Matt Merrell will attempt to make his truck series debut in the No.35 Win-Tron Racing Chevrolet.
Truex’s Name Makes Another Family First
Ryan Truex will make his truck series debut behind the wheel of the No. 27 Hillman Racing Chevrolet in Saturdays’ Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway. This start will mark a "Truex family" trifecta with all three Truex Family members (Martin Truex, Martin Truex Jr. and Ryan Truex) having a start in each of NASCAR’s three national touring series at Martinsville Speedway. Father, Martin Truex made his Martinsville debut in the Nationwide Series in the 1989 Miller Classic. Older brother Martin made his first start in the DirecTV 500 in 2006 in the Sprint Cup Series. Martinsville Speedway is added to the list of only four tracks (New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Dover International Speedway and Watkins Glen International) on the current NASCAR national series schedules where the all three Truex family members have competed in a NASCAR national or touring series race.
