NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES – LUCAS OIL 200, FRIDAY, MAY 31, 4:30 P.M. EDT ON SPEED
Crafton, Buescher Reach Milestones At Dover
Two
drivers facing different circumstances celebrate milestone starts this
week at Dover International Speedway. Points leader Matt Crafton will
appear in his 300th consecutive race and become the sixth
NCWTS competitor to reach 300 starts. He’ll also try to add to his
series-best, five-race top-10 finishing streak. Reigning series champion
James Buescher will start his 100th race and work at whittling down a 31-point deficit in the standings.
More Rookie, First-Time Winners Than Repeaters
Only
one driver – Kyle Busch – has been able to win two series races at
Dover International Speedway in 13 previous trips to “The Monster Mile.”
There have been five first-time winners and a pair of rookie winners.
Three Dover winners are expected to compete in Friday’s race – Busch,
Todd Bodine and Ron Hornaday Jr. The list of possible first-time winners
is lengthy and includes Sunoco Rookie Darrell Wallace Jr., winner of a
NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at the track in 2011. Three-time
pole winner Jeb Burton – ranked No. 2 in points – is another driver to
watch.
Busch, Hornaday, Peters Up To Concrete Challenge
NASCAR
Camping World Truck teams visit concrete speedways twice in 2013 –
Dover this week and Bristol Motor Speedway in August. Kyle Busch is the
all-time concrete winner with seven victories. Four-time champion Ron
Hornaday Jr. is second with four. Todd Bodine is the remaining active
competitor with multiple concrete wins. Timothy Peters is the most
recent concrete winner leading all 204 laps in 2012 at Bristol.
