NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES – WINSTAR WORLD CASINO 400, FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 9 P.M. EDT ON SPEED
Texas Motor Speedway Events Completes Season’s First Third
The WinStar World Casino 400K this Friday night is the seventh of 22 races on the 2013 NCWTS schedule. Matt Crafton enters the event with a 30-point lead over Jeb Burton (345-315) in the standings and remains the only driver to finish in the top 10 in every race this season. Crafton picked up his first win of the season at Kansas Speedway in April and hopes a return visit to an intermediate track gives him his second.
Gaughan Stays Hot Heading Into Texas
Brendan Gaughan rebounded midway through the race to finish fifth at Dover to post his fourth straight top-five finish as he heads in to Texas Motor Speedway where the Las Vegas, Nev., native has picked up four of his eight career NCWTS wins – in four consecutive races at the 1.5-mile track (2002-03). Gaughan moved into third place in points (-35).
Youth Movement Prominent In Series This Season
Once again the youth movement shined in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. This time it was at Dover International Speedway with Darrell Wallace Jr. setting a series record by becoming the youngest driver to win a pole award in the history of the national touring series at 19 years, seven months and 23 days. Chase Elliott, 17, qualified second to create the youngest front row – an average age of 18.5.
Kyle Busch Motorsports Enjoys Solid Weekend
For the first time this season all three trucks entered by Kyle Busch Motorsports finished in the top 10 in the Lucas Oil 200 at Dover. Busch won his second consecutive race of the season with Joey Coulter coming home eighth and Wallace following his record-setting pole run with a solid 10th-place finish.
