Matt Kenseth won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 14th Annual Kobalt Tools 400 with a lap of 28.589 seconds, 188.884 mph.
This is his fifth pole in 403 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. His last pole came at Darlington Raceway on May 9, 2009.
This is his first pole and second top-10 start in 2011.
This is his first pole in 12 races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway .
Marcos Ambrose (second) posted his first top-10 start of 2011 and his second in three races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway .
Carl Edwards (third) posted his second top-10 start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway . It is his second in three races this season.
Andy Lally (40th) was the fastest qualifying rookie.
